A Sneak Peek at the Redesign of Copyblogger.com

Here's what's coming in the Copyblogger website redesign

Over the past few months, the team at Rainmaker Digital has been working hard to redesign Copyblogger.com.

We’re creating a new interface that will be easier to read and use. And we can’t wait to show it to you!

The new site isn’t quite ready yet. But in this post, we’re going to give you a sneak peek at what’s coming and why we’re making the changes you’ll see.

An easy-to-read serif font

For the first time in the history of Copyblogger, our text font will be a super clear and easy-to-read serif font.

What’s a serif font? Serifs are the little “flags” you see coming off the edges of letters. It’s a classic font style that’s perfectly suited for reading longer articles.

We’ll contrast the serif font, Freight Text, with our Proxima Nova font in headlines, subheads, and more. This combination should make it even faster to read and absorb the information you find here.

Streamlined style with abundant white space

Because Lauren Mancke — our resident design guru at StudioPress — designed our new pages, you know they’re going to feature abundant white space and be easy on the eyes.

Lauren’s magic design touch adds a feeling of light and openness to everything she creates.

Even though the new site features the same amount of information, it’s spacious and clutter-free.

Quick access to our vast archives

Speaking of easier to use, we’re going to display our categories below posts.

Since 2006, Copyblogger has provided top-notch content marketing education. That’s a lot of articles to read.

If you’re interested in a specific topic, we want to make it easy for you to find other information we’ve shared on that topic.

So under every post, you’ll find a list of categories. Click on a category, and you’ll be taken to a page that features other articles we’ve written on the topic.

An Articles stream and an Audio stream

For the past seven months, we’ve featured our Rainmaker.FM podcast episodes alongside our Copyblogger articles in the main content stream on the blog.

After the redesign, each content type will have its own section. Articles will feature our Copyblogger written content, and Audio will feature content from Rainmaker.FM.

Targeted information for what you want to learn

There’s a good chance you’ve come here wanting to learn something specific.

That’s why we’ve created four “tracks” you can sign up for to learn more about specific areas of content marketing and building an effective online presence.

Each track will give you access to information that’s tailored to what you want to learn right now.

We’ve already made some changes

In the past six months, we’ve made other changes to Copyblogger. Have you noticed?

Here’s a quick review of what we’ve done on Copyblogger recently.

New editorial images

Our Copyblogger posts are now adorned with editorial images that we handcraft for each post.

We’ll write about these in more detail soon.

But for now, know that every pixel of these images is intentional. They help highlight our content and add shades of meaning to the words in the post.

Hero’s Journey posts

We get inspiration for the content we create and the products we build directly from you, our customers.

You’re an inspiring bunch. Scrappy, smart, and hardworking.

And we wanted to shine the spotlight back on you.

Because everyone deserves to be inspired by a colleague who’s out on the front lines building his or her success day-by-day.

That’s why we created our Hero’s Journey series where, once a month, we interview someone from our community.

Ready for some inspiration right now? Read our entire Hero’s Journey archive here. And watch for these posts every month.

Copyblogger Collection posts

For a few months now, our Editor-in-Chief Stefanie Flaxman has been curating Copyblogger Collection posts.

Copyblogger Collection posts bring together the top three articles Stefanie finds deep in our archives about specific topics we know you want to learn more about.

Here’s why:

With almost 10 years worth of content, Copyblogger is a big library of information on content marketing, design, copywriting, conversion, traffic, and more.

Stefanie is like that wise librarian who knows where all the best resources are hidden in our stacks.

Her Copyblogger Collection posts, which run on Fridays, are worth reading, bookmarking, and going back to frequently.

Extra resources for you

Around here, Chief Content Writer Demian Farnworth is the editorial team member we most associate with the phrase “epic post.” And we love to take his posts and add a visual aspect to them — a special bonus that makes his amazing information even more valuable.

Most recently, Demian’s epic posts have become infographics, SlideShare decks, posters, and downloadable checklists.

If you haven’t checked them out, take a look at some of the bonus content we’ve created most recently to complement Demian’s posts:

When will the redesigned site go live?

Well, that’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it?

You’ll be able to enjoy the redesigned site sometime in the near future.

All I can say for sure is that it will be well worth the wait.

We’ll bring it to you as soon as we possibly can. I am beyond excited for you to see it, use it, and benefit from it.

When it’s live, we’ll be shouting from the mountaintops so you can stop by and take a look. Watch this space. :-)
